The competitions at Abhyuday, IIT Bombay is a platform to provide a sustainable solution model to the social problems by engaging with the community and stakeholders. Aimed at encouraging youth towards solving social issues with their innovativeness, Competitions, has covered about 25+ states and 45+ cities with the participation of 800+ teams including over 2000 students & Professionals from around 1500 colleges across the nation till now.

OASIS

The Olympiad for Awareness in Social Innovation & Sustainability (OASIS) is a flagship initiative by Abhyuday, IIT Bombay, aimed at empowering young minds to address critical global challenges and pave the way toward a sustainable future.
... This one-of-a-kind Olympiad delves into diverse themes such as water conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, air quality, biodiversity preservation, climate action, and global warming. It highlights the importance of adopting sustainable development practices, green skills, cultural sensitivity, and staying informed about current environmental affairs.
Open to students from classes 5 to 10, OASIS provides a unique platform for young participants to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and commitment to sustainability. With a prize pool of X amount and exciting incentives, this Olympiad promises to be an enriching and rewarding experience for all participants.
At its core, OASIS draws inspiration from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fostering awareness about these globally recognized benchmarks to tackle pressing issues like climate change, poverty alleviation, and environmental degradation. SocioX - Case Challenge

SocioX - Case Challenge

This is a dynamic case study competition designed to foster innovative solutions for pressing real-world social challenges. This competition provides an incredible platform for participants to demonstrate their analytical and problem-solving skills while addressing critical societal issues.

Key Details

Team Composition: Participants can register individually or form teams of up to 3 members.
Problem Statements: Choose 1 out of 10 impactful and thought-provoking problem statements, carefully curated to inspire innovative solutions.
Competition Rounds:
- Round 1: Submit a 4-slide deck presentation addressing the chosen problem statement.
- Round 2: Shortlisted teams will prepare a detailed 12-15 slide presentation and deliver it in-person at IIT Bombay on 11th and 12th January.

Two Exciting Tracks

Mock Parliament Junior
- Designed exclusively for school students, offering them a chance to explore the art of parliamentary debate at an early age.
- Participants will learn to analyze, debate, and collaborate while addressing real-world issues in a structured setup.
Mock Parliament
- Tailored for college students, this track challenges participants to delve deeper into political ideologies, public policy, and governance.
- It provides a platform to showcase advanced analytical and speaking skills in a competitive environment.

Competition Structure

Round 1 : Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Participants are required to submit a short paragraph (maximum 200 words) explaining why they are interested in participating in the Mock Parliament.
This will help assess their enthusiasm, understanding of the event, and alignment with its objectives.

Round 2 : Parliamentary Debate

Parliamentary Setup:
- Participants will be divided into two sides: The Ruling Party and The Opposition.
- Each participant will be assigned a specific politician/position (randomly allotted) on 7th January 2025.
Hypothetical Bill:
- A legal bill will be released to all participants on 7th January 2025.
- Participants are expected to analyze the bill thoroughly, aligning their arguments with their role and side's perspective.
Session Day:
- Individual Presentations:
  Each participant will present their views on the bill in a 10-minute speech, ensuring alignment with their position and side.
- Open Debate:
  The room will then be open for moderated discussions, where participants can debate, counter arguments, and build consensus.
- Final Voting:
  The session concludes with a vote to decide the fate of the bill.
Role of the Speaker:
- The Speaker will moderate the session, ensuring order, fairness, and adherence to rules.
- The Speaker's discretion will be final in decision-making during the session.

Judgment Criteria

Participants will be evaluated on:

Depth of knowledge about the bill and the parliamentary procedure.
Speaking ability and confidence in presenting arguments.
Communication skills and interaction during the open debate.
Relevance and alignment of arguments with their assigned position and side.

Rules & Regulations

The medium is strictly English in both the rounds.
Use of obscene language in any of the rounds will lead to direct disqualification.
Participants should refrain themselves from using any statements that might hurt a community or statements directed against any community (religion, gender, race, caste, etc.)
The decisions of the organising team will be considered final in case of any disputes.

Action plan, the flagship competition of Abhyuday aimed at raising awareness about social entrepreneurship, Action Plan motivates the youth to solve India's most pressing social issues. Action-Plan, which revolves around the 3I's mantra: Ideate - Innovate - Implement, provides the platform to the youngsters across the country to come up with feasible and optimistic solutions to tackle social issues present in the Indian society. Started in 2012, it has rapidly expanded and last year reached to around 700+ teams of 2000+ different colleges in 50+ cities across India
